Supervisor SC Quality Control

Role summary

Manages, directs, or supervises the Quality Control function including the supervision of group(s) of QC Analysts/Engineers, Supply Chain Support and/or Technicians. Interprets and executes Quality Control strategies, ensuring adherence to company, divisional, and regional QC policies and procedures, and executes short- and long-term Quality objectives. Develops cost-effective QC methods, and engineering or analytical protocols for inspection and testing of in-process raw materials and finished products. Determines or approves schedules, equipment, and resources required for in-process testing protocols. Writes or approves reports evaluating standards or specialized methods to ensure the highest level of quality compliance, in conjunction with operational policies, strategies, and applicable internal standards or external regulations. Monitors QC tests and timely activities so all standards are met or exceeded. Working with cross-functional leadership teams, integrates with, and coordinates adjacent operational areas such as design, manufacturing, and quality engineering for operational planning. Ensures adherence to approved methods to sustain product manufacture with cost reduction, quality, and yield improvements. Sets quality goals and priorities, based on current/new requirements to maximize efficiency. Determines, requisitions, and monitors equipment for operability, capacity, and supplies. Evaluates labor requirements and develops schedules to adapt to peaks or staffing issues. Proactively prevents or resolves Supply Chain Quality problems and authorizes exceptions to policy as delegated. Typically requires a degree in Supply Chain Management and years of related experience.
