Privacy Policy

Messages you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message. That is the only personal information you can give us on this site.

Questions and searches. We receive the text you type into site search and the Survey Advisor, and the inputs an AI assistant sends to the CompShop MCP server (for example, a job title or an industry). We use this text only to produce results. Because there are no accounts, it isn’t tied to an identity. Please don’t include personal or confidential information in these fields.

Usage information. We use Vercel Web Analytics, a cookie-free service that reports aggregate page traffic. When you click through to a survey publisher, we record the page you came from, your browser’s user-agent, the destination, and the time in our hosting logs. Our hosting provider may also log standard request data, such as IP addresses, for security and operations. The Survey Advisor uses your IP address temporarily, in memory, to enforce a daily usage limit; it isn’t written anywhere.

Stored in your browser. Roles you enter in the survey directory are saved in your browser’s local storage so they persist between visits. They stay on your device and are never sent to us as a list; you can remove them by clearing this site’s data.

To run and improve the directory, the Survey Advisor, and the MCP server; to reply to messages you send us; to keep the service secure and within usage limits; and to understand aggregate usage. We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.

The MCP server is public and read-only: it has no authentication, no user accounts, and no tools that change data. It receives only the inputs your AI assistant sends to its tools — never your conversation with the assistant. Inputs are processed to answer the request and aren’t stored by CompShop beyond short-lived hosting logs. When a tool fails, we log the tool name and the error, not your inputs.

Three service providers process information on our behalf to operate CompShop. We don’t share personal information with anyone else, except if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of CompShop and its users.

• Vercel — hosts the website and holds its logs and aggregate analytics.
• Resend — delivers contact-form messages to our mailbox.
• OpenAI — generates Survey Advisor recommendations and processes search text (including MCP tool inputs) so we can match it against the catalog.

Survey publishers. When you follow a link to a publisher, their website receives your visit along with CompShop referral tags, exactly as it would from any link. We don’t pass them any information about you.

Messages: contact-form messages arrive as email and stay in our mailbox until you ask us to delete them. Resend keeps delivery records under its own policy.

Searches, Advisor questions, and MCP inputs: not stored by CompShop. OpenAI processes them and may keep API inputs for a limited time for abuse monitoring under its API data policy.

Logs: click records, error logs, and request logs are kept by Vercel for a short period under the log-retention settings of our hosting plan, then discarded.

Analytics: aggregate only; no record of you as an individual is kept.

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete a message you’ve sent us by emailing hello@comp-shop.com. You can clear information stored in your browser by clearing this site’s data.

CompShop is a business resource and isn’t directed to children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect their information.
