Role summary

Manages aspects of engineering projects or subsystems that have multiple phases and subsets, from inception to completion. Completing results on-time, within budget, and with proper coordination. Works with cross-functional teams or with outside contractors to ensure integration and adherence to approved policies, procedures, methods, and standards. Prepares engineering designs and specifications, develops short and long-term project schedules and projections, illustrations, budgets, and forecasts. Selects materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. Performs cost estimates and evaluates time and resource allocation needs to complete engineering projects, phases, or subsets on-time, according to planned targets and deliverables. Interacts with and coordinates other operational areas and management in areas such as engineering, drafting, and technical support/IT to secure and coordinate specialized resources and contributions. Recommends or selects and manages contractors to ensure project integration and contract fulfillment. Monitors all activities, resources, and quality standards, and is responsible for assigning or reassigning work. Conducts or facilitates engineering technical meetings and prepares and distributes reports to communicate project status, technical issues, factors, and impact. Determines and sets priorities and coordinates activity sequences and activities to meet targets and milestones. Typically requires a degree in Engineering and related experience.
