Role summary
Working in an industrial plant, responsible for applying an understanding of manufacturing engineering theory, methods, and techniques. Performs manufacturing engineering operations that impact multiple adjacent disciplines and functions. Selects methods to plan, develop, implement, and maintain processes and sequences in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Analyzes equipment layouts, workflows, assembly methods, and workforce utilization trends or projections. Determines parts and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification to maximize production efficiency. Interfaces with other engineering departments, staff, or management to coordinate manufacturing operations or for new product releases. Estimates manufacturing costs, determines production time or standards, and makes tooling or process improvement recommendations applicable to new or existing products and/or product lines. Updates and maintains documentation and reporting systems to coordinate manufacturing operations and complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required. Typically requires a degree in Manufacturing Engineering and related experience.
