Role summary
Manages, directs, or supervises staff and manages, recommends, and implements operational goals and objectives for an operational group in a region, country, division, subsidiary, department, or corporate area with responsibility for ensuring the smooth flow of the company's products through the management of production operations and processes. May research and evaluate supplier or equipment purchase or recommend capital investments. Coordinates and manages materials procurement/supply chain/logistics, equipment layout, maintenance, to maintain smooth, efficient and cost-effective operations. Ensures compliance with internal and external standards and regulations including volume, cost, delivery time, safety, security, and quality. May determine outsourcing needs or the mix of internal and outsourced operations and manages all outsourced operations including vendor selection and performance.
