Role summary
Designs and develops effective training programs for the organization such as e-learning courses, online manuals, instructional videos, and learning simulations leveraging instructional design methodology. Develops assessments to measure the effectiveness of coursework. May also collaborate with graphic designers to develop graphics that reinforce the education & training content. Training programs may range from skill and content courses specifically related to the goals and activities of departments or businesses, to more general courses designed to fill skill and competency gaps for the individual and/or organization. Typically has a background in one or more instructional design methodologies such as Addie, Bloom’s Taxonomy, the ARCS Model, or the Agile Model. Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to influence others and contribute to the development of strategic company objectives. Has a seasoned understanding of the company’s business and industry and collaborates with clients from other departments in the organization to develop instructional design materials that effectively deliver content to train employees. Educational and/or subject matter certification may be required.
