Role summary

Supervises, manages, or directs the activities of Solar Project Managers who are leading solar energy projects towards successful completion. Provides review and oversight of multiple PM teams to ensure compliance with short- or long-term solar business goals. Negotiates in and outside the organization to achieve goals. Develops operating budgets, forecasts, and master schedules, based on management and executive oversight requirements. Ensures projects meet specified goals, budgetary constraints, timeframes, technical requirements, and quality standards. Utilizing project management methods, techniques, and best industry practices. Oversees solar projects and activities, including design, procurement, installation, and commissioning. Reviews and approves project plans, including execution strategies. May select vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee work. Monitors deliverables and resolves problems keeping projects on track, in compliance, and within budget. Coordinates technical integration at high levels, and communicates with vendors, contractors, community members and other stakeholders. Oversees the quality of work to ensure deliverables meet or exceed solar industry standards and specifications and identifies and mitigates risks. Ensures Project Mgt. teams comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental laws, building codes, and safety standards. Serves as primary point of contact for sr. management and other project stakeholders, including clients, investors, regulatory bodies, or community members. Maintains comprehensive documentation including contracts, permits, project plans, and progress reports. Qualifications: A related Engineering degree (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Construction) is required, and an advanced degree in or certification in Solar/Renewable Energy and Project Management (PMP, (NABCEP) are necessary. Combined related technical, project management and leadership experience are required in the Solar Industry.
