Role summary
Conducts comprehensive environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for proposed projects, including site analysis, wildlife studies, and ecosystem evaluations. Identifies potential environmental impacts, and mitigation strategies. Ensures projects contribute positively to the transition to renewable onshore wind energy without harming the environment. Ensures projects comply with local, state, federal, and international environmental laws, and regulations. Obtains environmental permits and approvals. Develops strategies to mitigate negative environmental impacts, such as habitat destruction, water usage, and potential pollution. Works with government agencies, environmental organizations, local communities, and other stakeholders to address concerns and ensure transparency. Monitors environmental impact during construction and operation phases of projects and prepares reports on compliance and mitigation efforts. At senior levels, acts as a management strategic advisor and may assist with permitting or negotiations. Advocates for sustainability initiatives, and keeps abreast of research, trends, and technologies to influence policy development and project practices. Qualifications: A bachelor's or advanced degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, or a related field is typically required. Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or a similar credential, may be required. Related Windfarm experience is required.
