Role summary
Manages, directs, or supervises a group of Technical Project Managers working on technical projects in the Onshore Wind Industry, utilizing broad, interdisciplinary technical engineering project management knowledge techniques. Accountable for the development of effective technical project plans and strategies. Evaluates the resources needed to accomplish business objectives within the agreed timeframe. Establishes and oversees the staffing plan for each project, using a combination of internal and contract expertise. Keeps abreast of technology tools to utilize and maximize methodologies to efficiently manage projects. Selects, approves, and oversees the management of shared resources and subordinate Project Managers, who coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve targets, milestones, and results in the design, construction, development, and operation of onshore wind farms, turbines and associated structures/facilities. Must possess a thorough understanding of programs, systems, business operations, and relevant functional areas and expert communication skills to build consensus and commitment, negotiate terms, and resolve problems, which may involve communities or regulatory personnel. Leads and oversees the coordination of cross-functional teams through meetings, tasks, and reporting. Measures progress for interim and final targets and goals and intervenes accordingly. Oversees communications, documentation, and resources to bring projects to completion on time and within budget. Qualifications: Project Management Certification is typically required, along with one or more technical degree (s). Advanced Engineering training, certifications and many years of Onshore Wind project experience are required.
