Role summary
Manages, directs, or supervises staff and management, maintenance, and development of the Payroll function. Develops Payroll systems, schedules, policies and procedures, and manages timely and accurate processing and coordination of designated Payrolls. Executes strategies to achieve department goals. Develops and manages the preparation of reports summarizing payroll status and activities, profit sharing, deductions, withholding, etc. Payroll management includes various domestic categories, as well as foreign national or expatriate Payroll administration and coordination. Interfaces with third party providers as required and audits or oversee the audit of payroll summaries, bank balances, labor and wage reports and other transactional payroll operations. Consults with managers and employees at all levels to provide payroll and deduction information and assistance as required, research and resolve escalated problems. Monitors and ensures compliance with all applicable government and regulatory laws, regulations and requirements, and legal or contractual obligations. Direct the analysis and reconciliation process for balance sheets, inventory accounts, ledgers, and journals. Manages the development and implementation of new and revised payroll reporting and analysis systems, and coordinates with other departments such as Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, and Legal to determine changes, specifications, schedules, and communication needs.
