Role summary
Under the guidance of policies and management, receives, evaluates and resolves calls in the HR Service Center, some of which (depending on job level) will have escalated from lower tiers in the call resolution hierarchy. Interprets and applies human resources policies, practices and processes in the normal course of call transactions. In addition to the management and supervisory structure, is also guided by various knowledge bases to which it has access to assist in call resolution. Based on its knowledge of the concepts underlying the rules, regulations and procedures, has a greater degree of discretion and autonomy in the decisions made in the course of a typical or escalated call. Has access to the professional expert levels within the various specialty disciplines in the core Human Resources function and may consult with them on the particulars of special cases falling outside the strict guidelines. Has advanced operational knowledge of the operation and structure of the various databases, record keeping systems, and technologies used both in the HR Service Center and in the broader HR function. Typically requires experience dealing with HR related employee queries, either in a Center environment or in the core HR function, in a large, complex environment.
