Role summary
Following installation, this position is responsible for the on-going maintenance and service of solar panels and energy storage systems to ensure long-term operation and efficiency. Using specialized techniques, methods, and processes optimizes the performance of the systems to ensure maximum electricity generation. Performs scheduled inspections and maintenance tasks, i.e. checks mounts, and structures, and ensures electrical connections are secure. Diagnoses solar PV system issues, including inverter failures, malfunctioning panels, and electrical problems. Carries out repairs or parts replacement. Uses monitoring software and tools to track performance. Analyzes data to detect issues or areas for improvement. Wears safety protective gear and ensures all activities comply with safety standards and regulations. Provides service to customers or internal staff, and ensures detailed documentation is maintained for all issues and activities. Qualifications: A High School or Vocational diploma is required with further education or training in solar energy technology, electrical engineering, or a related field. Certifications in the solar field may be required, and specialized related experience in solar PV installation and electrical maintenance is required.
