Role summary
Manages, directs, or supervises staff and planning, managing, reporting on, and controlling the day-to-day operations of the Third Party Claims Administration Vendor Management function to execute and achieve short, and long-term Vendor Management strategies. Responsibilities include managing vendor compliance evaluations and impact studies of processing of claims data to required claims systems, analysis of data reported by them in terms of quality and compliance with procedural control framework. Sets group goals, objectives, and priorities, monitors the achievement of Third-Party Claims Administration Vendor Management strategies, and approves costs and performance results of work involved in the management of many vendor contracts and relationships for either single or multiple functions across the organization. Develops internal methods, techniques, and procedures, and recommends operational policies to meet functional goals and objectives. Determines and approves the most effective approach to qualifying, evaluating and managing vendors and their related service contracts. Manages the evaluation of assigned vendors from a technical, financial, and service level perspective, and reports on performance to create efficiencies, improvements, maximum value, and cost saving opportunities. Manages the tracking and monitoring of vendor performance from a cost and service delivery perspective to ensure that they are in compliance with detailed contract terms. Resolves escalated problems and may intervene in the event of disputes to resolve issues in advance of more serious remedies being applied. Typically requires a degree in a related area such as Business, Accounting, or Finance. Requires related supervisory, vendor management, vendor relationships, procurement or and vendor negotiation experience.
