Role summary
Manages, directs, or supervises staff and the Global Mobility and Relocation function. Manages relationships including management, vendors, consultants, and staff, and develops global mobility and relocation policies, guidelines and procedures. Monitors compliance, and adherence, and resolves escalated cases. Determines key contacts to involve for dispute resolution or for approval to policy exceptions. Manages the efficient handling of cases and may serve as the initial point of contact for full-cycle inbound and outbound moves. Negotiates with parties in and outside the organization to determine costs, contract needs, and to resolve problems. May oversee relocation and/or immigration, according to approved program, policy, and procedure guidelines. Evaluates costs, benefits, and impact of resources and/or changes to existing agreements. Keeps abreast of approaches unique to each culture where employees are located/relocated for stakeholder satisfaction. Develops control methods and procedures to track all cases and projects. Working with Executive Levels, may estimate relocation, settling in, or repatriation costs, and coordinate, analyze, communicate, or estimate tax impact. Collaborates with Tax, and Immigration counsel and experts both in or outside the organization. Approves relocation letters and packages for the relocating or repatriating employee (and family) and approves permanent transfer letters, handbooks, and training materials. Manages the record keeping and documentation management process. Ensures positive working relationships, cultural sensitivity, and oversees transitions, ensuring prompt intervention and problem resolution. Manages and oversees cost reimbursement procedures. Develops cost models and proposals. Keeps abreast of relevant Immigration laws and coordinates with Line Management, Payroll, HR, Finance and Legal Counsel as necessary. Certification in Global Mobility and/or Relocation may be required.
