Senior Manager Compensation

Role summary

Manages, directs, or supervises staff and the compensation policies and programs that support the business strategy of the organization, and which enable it to attract, retain and motivate talented employees. May have a corporate-wide support role or may be assigned to a particular client group, depending on scale and complexity. Has ongoing interaction with client executives, directors and managers to identify their compensation needs and on the interpretation and implementation of corporate compensation policies and programs. May initiate various analysis projects and the design of new or special compensation programs to address market and business needs. Provides ongoing direction and guidance on the general application of policy or on the design, development, management and implementation of new initiatives or programs. May also manage outside consultants retained to develop tailored programs. Interacts with peer HR functions such as Benefits, Staffing, Organization and Leadership Development, to ensure effective communication, implementation and coordination of compensation programs and identify the need for new systemic programs. May be involved in the project management of multiple projects, simultaneously. May have a particular expertise in one or more aspects of compensation. Requires experience in contemporary compensation and reward systems and programs in large, complex organizations.
