Role summary
Supports the Human Resources function in developing and implementing strategic HR plans and business strategies that are aligned with their business needs and which help the assigned client group achieve their short and long term business targets, goals, and results. Acting as a "point person" within the assigned Business Unit, frequently has more limited responsibilities for HR administrative processes and/or routine program coordination than the HR Generalist. Partners with business leadership to meet the needs of the business itself, and promote a positive, productive, diverse and supportive working environment and culture within the organization. Typically assigned to support one or more employee groups or units within the organization from an HR strategy perspective. Primarily interacts with management and senior management, as well as individual employees, on most human resource and employment issues. Puts in place policies and practices that are aligned with the operational needs of the business, typically taking the lead role in identifying and implementing change management activities and strategies. Interprets, communicates and clarifies company policies to the various parties involved and is relied on by the group executive for insight, advice, and guidance. May be responsible for staffing, induction, compliance, employee relations, training and development, performance management, disciplinary actions, change management, employee communications, equitable and consistent treatment of all employees, complaint investigation and problem resolution, and fair employment practices. May enlist and leverage support and specialists in the business and HR functions to assist in the design and development of solutions to identified issues. Ensures that all policies and practices are enforced in a manner compliant with all applicable employment and other laws and regulations governing employer / employee relationships, for the population supported. Ensures that adequate and accurate records are maintained relative to an employee's ongoing behavior and relationship with the organization. May conduct investigations and gather and compile data on individual issues and make recommendations for action based on the compiled findings. Depending on level, may have an MBA, or other advanced degree.
