Senior Human Resources Assistant

Role summary

Provides administrative, technical and clerical support to assist with one or more areas of Human Resources. Works closely with the Human Resources Manager and professional staff to provide support as needed on confidential HR matters, plans, programs, and special projects. Frequently acts as the first point of contact with prospective or current employees with general questions about the organization, HR programs, policies, procedures, plans, or resources, and provides information, or refers employees to appropriate personnel. May answer phones and tend to clerical tasks such as drafting correspondence or updating employee or department files. May interact with benefits staff or providers regarding enrollments and changes in status, may track timing and program or enrollment deadlines, or interpret and respond to employee policy questions. May assist with scheduling, general clerical support, and ensures smooth administrative coordination between departments. Sets up, supports, and coordinates meetings as assigned. Performs a range of duties that include typing, data entry, records updates/maintenance, material development for presentations, filing, mail distribution, report creation, information distribution, etc. May perform initial screening of applicants and candidates according to guidelines, or organize, process, and batch sensitive and confidential materials supporting broad HR activities. A High School Degree is required however An Associate’s Degree or 2 or more years of college is preferred, along with prior HR or customer facing experience.
