Role summary
Works in conjunction with staff, candidates, Global HR Managers, legal and financial counsel, vendors and global service partners to advise on and coordinate global compensation and mobility programs. Acts as a relocation and/or immigration advisor and coordinator, according to program, policy, and procedure guidelines. Working with vendors and stakeholders (candidates, expatriates, and management), administers programs, determining needs and approaches unique to each culture to ensure employee satisfaction. May negotiate with vendors as approved. Advises relocating employees on the policies and limits covering their particular situation. Relocation benefits may include assistance on the disposition of an existing home, departure services (cancellation of leases, utilities, etc.), the acquisition of a new home in a new location, transportation policies, temporary housing allowances, other settling-in allowances, coordination of services provided by vendors including realtors, vendors assisting with schooling, documentation specialists, arrival orientation vendors and other services. Manages and tracks all cases and projects. Consults with experts to estimate relocation, settling in, or repatriation costs, and coordinates, analyzes, and estimates tax impact working with Tax specialists . Drafts relocation letters and packages for the relocating or repatriating employees (and families) and permanent transfer letters. Maintains records and documentation and manages the global mobility process from intake to completion. Maintains key relationships, and provides prompt, responsive service. Demonstrates cultural sensitivity in all communications, coordinates seamless transitions, prompt intervention, and implements cost reimbursement procedures. Takes initiative to evaluate and recommend significant cost saving opportunities. Drafts and recommends new or revised policies, guidelines and procedures. Monitors dynamic changes impacting needs, recommends policy change while ensuring compliance. Investigates disputes or exceptions to policy, providing research and action justification as appropriate. Within guidelines, may have authority to approve policy exceptions. Keeps abreast of relevant laws and coordinates with Line Management, Payroll, HR, Finance and Legal Counsel as necessary. Certification in Global Mobility and/or Relocation may be required.
