Senior Environmental Impact Specialist- Solar

Role summary

Conducts comprehensive environmental assessments and environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for proposed solar projects, including site analysis, wildlife studies, and ecosystem evaluations. Identifies potential environmental impacts, and strategies to mitigate impacts, ensuring projects contribute positively to the transition to renewable solar energy without harming the environment. Ensures solar projects comply with local, state, federal, and international environmental laws, and regulations. Obtains environmental permits and approvals. Develops strategies to mitigate negative environmental impacts, such as habitat destruction, water usage, and potential pollution. Works with government agencies, environmental organizations, local communities, and other stakeholders to address concerns and ensure transparency. Monitors environmental impact during construction and operation phases and prepares reports on compliance and mitigation efforts. At senior levels, acts as a management advisor and may assist with negotiations. Advocates for sustainability initiatives, and keeps abreast of research, trends, and technologies to influence policy development and project practices. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees may be required. Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or a similar credential, may be required. Related Solar or renewable energy experience is required.
