Role summary
Manages, directs, or supervises staff and the evaluates and implements sales compensation programs. The overall goal is to ensure that the various sales compensation programs used in the assigned organization are appropriately designed to stimulate the desired sales behavior, are fully competitive with industry peers, and are well communicated to the sales force to enable them to achieve their sales, margin, market share and other goals. May be located at Headquarters location or in a Division or Subsidiary, depending on organization structure. Has frequent interaction with sales management on the detailed evaluation, interpretation and implementation of multiple plans to ensure that they support the goals of attracting, retaining and motivating top sales talent and interpreting policy in individual cases. Ensures that programs are well designed, fully documented and well communicated to participants. Supports Sales Management in interpreting policies in individual cases and is actively involved in reviewing payout proposals. May engage outside consultants to evaluate or design new programs where appropriate.
