Role summary
Manages, directs, or supervises staff and policies and processes to effectively manage CAT claims activities resulting from a catastrophe for an assigned area. Ensures that, at a tactical and operational level, all claims policies and processes are fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations. At an operational level, manages the claims process, including evaluating coverage, documenting files & records related to claims, working with investigators, and participating in the resolution of claims. Manages relationships with both internal resources such as investigators, inside counsel, as well as external resources, such as agencies, insureds, claimants, outside counsel and other parties, while ensuring high customer satisfaction. Serves as a point of escalation on difficult CAT claims cases. Requires a manager with an in-depth understanding of CAT claims concepts and practices, and the associated laws and regulations governing these activities. May involve travel away to CAT claims location for an extended period of time. Requires CAT claims or related experience.
