Role summary
Manages, directs, or supervises staff and meets staffing objectives for an assigned area of the organization at the management, professional, para-professional and support areas, in a cost effective way. Interprets and applies departmental policies to ensure that the objectives are met at the appropriate level of high performance talent to meet requirements. Meets with operational business leadership of the assigned area, to understand their staffing needs and business issues. May utilize numerous sourcing channels (internal referrals, internal websites, public websites, social and professional networking sites, agency recruiters, print advertising, radio and television, and other means) to develop an appropriate candidate pool. Ensures that all recruitment and selection efforts, for the assigned area, are fully compliant with all relevant laws, statutes and regulations within the various markets in which the organization operates to ensure a balanced and diverse workforce. May be directly involved in candidate sourcing for the management levels in the assigned area, and in the development offers and structuring of compensation packages. Meets with peer HR specialties to coordinate various issues in relation to recruitment, selection and onboarding and orientation of new employees. May select a portfolio of national or international staffing agencies and negotiate specific terms for defined searches, within the scope of its role.
