Role summary
Manages, directs, or supervises staff and the and the development of the public relations plan to promote the organization’s brand and image. May serve as a primary point of contact for media inquiries and manages relationships with outside media professionals and journalists. Requires a thorough understanding of the business and other issues impacting the assigned area and a very effective working relationship with the operational management and staff of that area. Requires an individual with a degree in journalism, communications, or a related discipline. Requires a detailed knowledge of the news production process in various media and related deadlines and schedules. Requires detailed knowledge of the structure and editorial positions of the trade and general media typically acquired through corporate communications or agency experience.
