Role summary

Protects workers' health and safety while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Keeps abreast of applicable health and safety regulations such as OSHA and those applicable to the renewable energy/construction industry(s). Analyzes data, investigates incidents, and recommends continuous improvement in health and safety performance. Conducts risk assessments for solar farm sites, including installation, maintenance, and decommissioning activities. Develops safety procedures for working with photovoltaic panels, electrical wiring, and battery storage systems. Monitors Health and Safety compliance with Solar Industry regulations, i.e. electrical safety, working in confined spaces, and in extreme temperatures. Develops and implements safety training programs, including handling of solar panels, personal protective equipment, and emergency response protocols. Conducts installation inspections; ID’s and addresses potential safety hazards. Collaborates with such stakeholders as solar project developers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure integration of safety standards. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or similar credentials recognized in the industry. Additional related experience is required.
