Role summary
Provides daily operational and administrative support for benefits administration issues, via online, telephone or in person, to all employees for all benefit programs, including group medical, dental, vision, life, short and long term disability insurance plans, retirement plans, leaves of absences in accordance with plan documents and provisions, overall company policies and procedures. Ensures these activities are carried out in accordance with the appropriate laws and regulations (COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, etc.) and must demonstrate an advanced knowledge of appropriate provisions. Assists in planning open enrollments, new hire orientations, benefit communications and presentations, and other benefit related events and activities. May oversee the audit the HRIS system from a benefits perspective to ensure information is accurately recorded. May also maintain employee benefits files. Has frequent interaction on more complex operational issues with third-party administrators, benefit plan providers, auditors, consultants and others on problem resolution and on general plan administration.
