Role summary
Responsible for protecting offshore workers' health and safety while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and promotes a culture of safety throughout the organization. Keeps abreast of applicable health and safety regulations such as OSHA and those applicable to the renewable energy/construction industry(s). Analyzes data, investigates incidents, and makes recommendations for continuous improvement. Conducts risk assessments and safety training for installations and operations for protocols specific to offshore marine environments. Monitors technological demands and applicable regulations related to offshore drilling, rigging, and transportation. Monitors industry-specific hazards and control measures, such as working at heights, electrical safety, confined space entry, and hazardous materials handling. Develops emergency response and documentation plans for incidents such as fires, Oil spills, and emergencies at sea. Ensures inspection and maintenance of personal safety gear and equipment and emergency response systems. Coordinates with regulatory, management, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and best practices are attained. Monitors compliance with regulations specific to offshore wind energy, including those related to turbine installation, maintenance, and decommissioning. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field is required plus additional Certifications are required with related experience.
