EVP Procurement / Sourcing (Direct)

Role summary

Provides leadership in the development of a strategic approach to the procurement of raw materials, chemicals, equipment, supplies, machinery, tooling, and vendor services used in the manufacturing and production process. Partners with Quality Assurance, Materials Management and EHS to develop and implement processes to validate and approve suppliers and vendors and ensure appropriate storage and handling of inventory obtained. Establishes purchasing standards, systems, policies, and procedures related to the acquisition of goods and services necessary for the production and manufacturing of products while achieving cost effective business strategies. Develops and implements policies, procedures and objectives necessary to obtain products and services at the lowest costs possible while still achieving the organization's high standards for quality. Oversees the management of the competitive bidding process and ensures that contracts are awarded as appropriate. Develops methods to track companywide spending and cost savings achieved through various purchase initiatives companywide. Identifies critical success factors to ensure efficient and effective supplier sourcing and contract functions meet business stakeholder requirements. Builds strong internal and external relationships. NOT responsible for the acquisition of corporate supplies, systems and services. Typically requires degrees in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or related studies plus related Procurement or Supply Chain experience in large complex organizations.
