Associate Legal, Regulatory and Policy Compliance Analyst- Offshore Wind

Role summary

Supports the development, operation, and expansion of Offshore Wind projects by ensuring compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Mitigates legal risks, informs strategic decisions, and engages in policy development. Monitors and interprets relevant laws, regulations, and policies to ensure projects comply with all legal requirements at the federal, state, and local level. Investigates technical, regulatory, and internal policy compliance needs to remove barriers to compliance. Provides expert advice and recommendations to project teams, management, and stakeholders Analyses data that governs Offshore wind development and operational activities to determine standards and ensure compliance. Collaborates with government agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to navigate regulatory processes, or participate in public hearings. Keeps abreast of best industry policy practices. Engages in policy analysis and advocacy efforts to support favorable regulatory changes or initiatives to the industry. Assesses impact of regulations and legal requirements to pro-actively prevent problems or mitigate risks. Consults and advises staff and management in project life-cycle phases or with on-going operations. Provides relevant documentation to promote the development of legal, regulatory, and operational policies that ensure legal and regulatory compliance applicable to project needs and organizational objectives. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in law, environmental policy, public policy, or a related field is typically required. Advanced degrees or certifications in law, marine or environmental science, or energy policy may be required or preferred. Related experience working in legal or regulatory compliance, policy analysis, or a related function within the Offshore Wind energy sector, or a regulatory agency is required.
