Role summary

Responsible for setting overall strategic direction and providing leadership oversight for Human Resources areas by developing effective human resource strategies and policies which enable the organization and/or the assigned client group to achieve their business results. Depending on scale, may have responsibility for a portion of the organization or a large business group. The primary Partner and advisor to senior management on human resources issues. Integrally involved with peer level executives in planning organizational and staffing changes based on business conditions or resulting from mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and reductions in force. Monitors and evaluates post implementation performance to ensure successful long-term outcomes. May provide one on one, or executive team coaching to enhance the effectiveness of the leadership team. Implements overall corporate Human Resource policies within the assigned client area. Engages other specialist human resource functions (e.g., Compensation, Staffing, Talent Development, etc.) where needed to accomplish a specific objective and advises executives on the merits of specific recommendations. Ensures compliance with all appropriate HR statutes and regulations as they apply to the assigned group. The overall goal is to ensure that the organization is seen as an "employer of choice" in its respective market for talent.
