Role summary

Responsible for the leadership and oversight of the engineering function, developing and implementing an overall engineering strategy, using the latest technologies to ensure the company’s current and future product development and engineering technology objectives are achieved. Liaises closely with executive management to evaluate and prioritize engineering needs and allocates human and capital resources to an array of projects designed to satisfy these identified needs. Responsible for establishing a departmental budget and monitors and evaluates budget expenditures and variances. Establishes the appropriate mix between in-house engineering resources and external specialist consultants to ensure that projects are delivered on time, in budget and at the appropriate quality standard. Oversees the development of corporate wide engineering standards for distribution to site locations throughout the company. This is a single incumbent position.
