Role summary

Working at the executive level, responsible for the vision, leadership and overseeing the execution of processes, plans, programs, and activities involved in the process of acquiring, developing, retaining, and utilizing human capital to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives, both short and long term. Oversees the identification and development of high-potential employees within the organization to fill key roles within the organization. Develops policies and procedures and oversees activities relating to such areas as recruitment, selection and training, and performance measurement. Develops strategies to create a positive and supportive work environment, in order to attract top talent. Provides leadership coordination with other areas of the business and other Human Resources functions. May be responsible for a large portion of the organization, work in a remote location, or for a large business group. May report directly to the business executive with dotted line HR functional responsibility. Keeps abreast of operational, leadership and organizational issues to assess the impact of change affecting the talent management function and monitors events that support or interfere with positive morale and high productivity. Provides and oversees Talent Management advisory and consultancy services and plays a key advisory and leadership role in developing talent management strategies to facilitate organizational transitions, transformations, and communications. Collaborates pro-actively to plan structural staffing, reorganization or management changes based on business or cultural conditions or resulting from mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and/or reductions in force. Monitors and evaluates on-going or post integration/implementation needs and performance to ensure successful long-term outcomes. May provide one on one, or executive team coaching to enhance recruitment opportunities and strengthen the effectiveness of the leadership team. Engages other specialist HR functions (e.g., Compensation, Staffing, Organizational Development, Benefits, HR Business Partners, etc.) where needed and determines operational efficiency, functional recommendation, and impact. Ensures compliance with all appropriate HR statutes and regulations as applicable. May undertake ad hoc projects required to implement a new corporate Talent Management policy.
