Role summary

Responsible for the development and implementation of Human Resource and Labor Relations strategies, structures, policies, and practices that enable the organization to effectively attract, retain, motivate, develop, and reward highly qualified employees on both a domestic and international basis. The most senior advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Management and the Board of Directors on these matters. Ensures that the organization has the appropriate organizational structures to respond to the challenges of the marketplace and is actively involved in periodic re-organizations due to new business strategies, mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures. Ultimately responsible for the organization’s Labor Relations strategies and the overall relationship with organized labor and their union representatives. Ensures that the organization is in compliance with all the domestic and international laws, regulations and rules, governing Human Resource issues. Additionally, promotes initiatives that enhance the reputation of the organization as a desired place to work. Establishes and manages a high-performance organization of human resource executives and professionals to implement the approved strategies and provides leadership and guidance to them as needed. Requires a human resource executive with experience in a large complex organization with organized labor and will typically be educated at the graduate degree level. This is a single incumbent position.
