Role summary
Responsible for overall strategy, design, development and cost effective management and implementation of employee benefit programs (retirement, health and welfare, and executive plans) in support of the long range goals of the organization. Ensures that all programs comply with all federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ERISA, IRS, SOX, COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA) and ensures that the tax-qualified status of benefit programs is maintained. Monitors legislative changes to determine their likely impact on the organization. Advises executive management on benefits management, retiree benefit trends, compliance, investment strategies, fiduciary requirements, service provider contract negotiations, provisions and service levels, benefit aspects of labor contracts, cost sharing and contribution balancing, and best practices and innovations. Provides executive and technical leadership in the administration and communication of employee benefit programs. Requires a seasoned benefits professional with experience in managing benefit programs in large complex organizations.
