Role summary
Manages, directs, or supervises staff and the development to build machine learning systems that automatically deliver artificial intelligence decisions and recommendations based on data without human intervention. Responsible for managing one or more projects within a portfolio of projects to meet the machine learning needs of the assigned client group. Directly involved in meeting with client management, project planning, and selecting and balancing internal and external staffing resources based on the skills required in the project. Manages development of predative models for applications such as image recognition, speech recognition, medical diagnosis, search, virtual assistants, chatbots, and others. Transforms vast amounts of structured and unstructured data from many sources into insights using learning algorithms. Manages development of machine learning techniques such as supervised learning, unsupervised learning, semi-supervised learning, and reinforcement learning. Works closely to data scientists. Must be fully conversant with machine learning development concepts and methodologies and current development languages and methods. Requires Data Science, Machine Learning and/or Software development experience. Must have a strong knowledge of languages such as SQL, R, Python, Java, Hadoop and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and Spark ML.
