Role summary
Responsible for evaluating credit situations of varying complexity requiring basic or non-standard evaluations. Non-standard evaluations could be due to the amount of credit involved or complexities such as prior credit issues with the customers, incomplete or missing information, prior bankruptcies or other issues. Complies with all applicable laws and regulations in the credit approval process. May have discretion to award credit within defined limits in such situations or may refer and make recommendations to management on particularly challenging cases. Applies financial and credit risk analysis techniques and methodologies to evaluate the particular circumstances involved. May analyze income statements, balance sheets, and other documents related to the application for credit and may examine the work backgrounds of the Principals involved in the request to minimize the risk of fraud or loss to the corporation. May, in line with policy, impose non-standard conditions in regard to credit, where appropriate, to protect the interests of the company.
