Role summary
Supervises the respiratory services staff to ensure the delivery of quality therapeutic services. Ensures that all policies and procedures are followed as set forth by the hospital and department. Specific duties may include: counseling staff members about appropriate procedures and policies; performing therapeutic procedures; running quality control tests on all blood gas analyzers; maintaining equipment; completing annual employee evaluations and reviews, assessing department protocol; and changing cylinders. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program; RRT or CRTT and must be licensed by the state. Typically has one to three years of supervisory experience.
