Role summary
Responsible for managing non-technical project(s) or subsystems with an administrative focus from strategy development to completion. This role has project management responsibility and may supervise Project Coordinators and at higher levels, or other Project Managers, while executing subset project components. Manages specific projects on an ongoing basis, with distinct beginnings and endings. Leverages direct and/or indirect staff to accomplish results. Maintains frequent cross-functional interactions at the senior management level. Defines problems, scopes parameters, develops strategies, task/solution specifications, identifies and secures needed resources, trains members, and develops and updates project plans, timetables and milestones. Maintains and distributes documentation and communications to keep members informed, on task, and on time. Identifies structures of authority and processes for decision making within the project, and ultimately manages the execution of the plan and post implementation evaluation of outcomes. Project management certification is desirable and may be required.
