Role summary
Responsible for explaining and applying the professional Six Sigma philosophies and principles within an organization, including supporting systems and tools. Responsible for project managing at least one significant cost reduction or process improvement project using the Six Sigma DMAIC quality control principles and metrics driven tools. The goal of such projects is to ensure material cost savings through the significant reduction of errors, waste, delays, or customer impact. Expected to be able to apply all elements of the Six Sigma process including a clear definition of the objectives, the development of measurement and data collection protocols, analysis and graphing of results, interpreting significance, implementing improvements and ensuring a stable and controlled process. Mentors less experienced belts where needed and leads the team in such a way as to quickly build group cohesion and effectiveness. Requires a recognized Green Belt Certification, a degree, and experience implementing Six Sigma principles, methodologies and tools on process improvement projects in large corporate environments. In addition to Lean enterprise concepts, has demonstrated ability to identify non-value-added elements and activities and demonstrates proven application of specific tools.
