Role summary
Responsible for assisting Pharmacists and the department in provision of comprehensive pharmacy services in the support of effective patient care and treatment. Duties include checking and verifying orders, data entry onto the departmental system, compounding, preparing and labeling of medications for specific patients, for review by Pharmacists or more senior staff prior to delivery to patient care teams. Ensures compliance with all departmental policies and the requirements of all applicable laws and regulations relative to safety. May perform dosage calculations and related tasks in accordance with procedures. Higher level positions provide support in relation to inventory management by monitoring stock levels and placing orders for medications, in accordance with standard procedures. Higher level positions may also be responsible for Sterile products, IV solutions, and IV admixtures. Typical Qualification: High School plus Certification as a Pharmacy Technician by the State Board of Pharmacy.
