Role summary
Working within a Distribution Center or function, analyzes distribution, financial, and transportation needs for assigned facilities, to ensure the most cost-effective methods to achieve product movement, delivery and distribution in compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Researches a variety of standards and factors related to transportation, regulations, product safety/stability needs, etc. Applies an understanding of operations, resources, and procedures in such adjacent areas as Supply Chain, Logistics, Shipping and Receiving, and IT, to better evaluate distribution options and cost/benefits. Specialized analyses include such factors as reception or inventory control, or internal and external special conditions/needs that impact distribution costs, operations or compliance issues. Evaluates data to identify facility issues and factors that impede or support strategies for various products or locations. Performs studies or implements logistics or distribution study results, based on forecasts, priorities, and cost modeling. Provides input on system application needs or implements system tools to assist with distribution management activities or analyses.
