Role summary
(Responsible for an Area/Group such as a Subsidiary, Division, Business Unit, Plant) Manages, directs, or supervises staff and ensuring the integrity of all accounting records for the assigned area/group(s). Provides direction to the financial reporting and other sub-functions of accounting. Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the areas/group(s)’s chart of accounts and for the accounting information systems necessary to support them. Establishes policies relative to such items as accounting controls, revenue recognition, risk management, assets reporting, and related matters within the area/group(s). Manages important issues such as the maintenance of the general ledger and other ledgers, coordination of financial statements, manage accounts payables and accounts receivables, bank reconciliations, processing of payroll, and oversight over all financial transactions. Requires a seasoned and independent executive with an accounting or finance degree and professional qualification, including significant public accounting firm experience and a comprehensive understanding of the reporting and other requirements of regulations and statutes, as well as financial exchange regulations combined with an extensive understanding of the needs and objectives for the assigned for the assigned area/group(s).
