Role summary
Responsible for identifying critical and catastrophic threats to business and IT operational continuity and for developing contingency plans to address these challenges. This may include the identification of alternate physical work or data sites and IT facilities, negotiation of multi-year contracts with vendors, emergency staffing plans, security planning, equipment leasing and other disaster planning and management activities. In addition, responsible for identifying future risk profiles and developing mitigation strategies to counter them. In addition, develops plans to counter other types of threats which may be less permanent in nature but are, nevertheless, very disruptive to business and IT operations and may have a related significant financial impact. Requires experience in disaster planning and business continuity planning with specific knowledge of IT issues related to these topics.
