Role summary
(Responsible for an Area/Group such as a Subsidiary, Division, Business Unit, Plant) Manages, directs, or supervises staff and ensuring the integrity of all accounting records for the assigned area/group, from the initial transaction level up to the fully integrated Annual and Quarterly Financial Report, in compliance with GAAP and related regulatory requirements. Responsible for managing the maintenance of the area/group(s)’s chart of accounts and for the accounting information systems necessary to support them. Develops policies relative to such items as accounting controls, revenue recognition, risk management, assets reporting, and related matters. Guides subordinate financial reporting staff on issues such as the maintenance of the general ledger and other ledgers, coordination of financial statements, preparation of the annual report, management of accounts payables and accounts receivables, bank reconciliations, processing of payroll, and oversight over all financial transactions. Requires a seasoned and independent executive with an accounting or finance degree and professional qualification, and public accounting firm experience.
