Responsible for developing an appropriate strategy, policies and plans for the development and implementation of User Interfaces for software that make the user’s interaction with them as easy and efficient as possible. Must have a comprehensive understanding of emerging User Interface / User Experience (UI/UX) trends within the industry from both a technology and business perspective and their benefits and limitations. May have frequent interaction with critical vendors, standards groups, approval and review groups, customers and others to identify trends, challenges, costs and benefits. Advises peer level client management on the business and technical issues surrounding a decision to deploy mobile applications. Establishes a structure and provides policy guidance and direction to subordinate managers dealing with UI/UX engineering issues. Requires software development experience, including the leadership and coordination of large, complex projects, critical to the business success of the organization. Needs an in-depth knowledge of contemporary user interface engineering concepts and methodologies and current development languages and methods.
