Role summary
Responsible executive leadership, vision, direction, and oversight of the Financial Reporting function, and for developing and implementing an overall financial reporting strategy for the organization. Uses the latest methods, techniques, and technologies to ensure the company’s current and future strategic financial reporting objectives are achieved. Liaises closely with executive management to evaluate and prioritize needs and allocates human and capital resources to an array of operations and activities, designed to satisfy these identified needs, ensuring effective integration. Analyzes, evaluates, and manages the company’s financial reporting activities to maximize profit and minimize risk, loss and volatility, while ensuring compliance with applicable financial reporting standards and regulations. Other responsibilities may include preparing financial presentations and materials for the board of directors and investors and ensuring the company follows financial best practices. Reviews and approves financial reports and analyses to support the preparation of financial submissions that provide insights into the organization's financial performance. Monitors quality, accuracy and financial performance and approves a variety of monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Oversees the Implementation of policies, procedures, quality standards and controls. Typically requires a Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or an MBA, and relevant finance experience. May hold specialized financial or accounting certifications, and/or be certified as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
