Role summary
Manages, directs, or supervises staff and the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) function. Manages the evaluation and maintenance of software system reliability including availability, performance, capacity, latency, data security, data privacy, incident response, ensuring best practices are maintained. Manages systems to reduce outages and customer disruptions. Ensures the organization meets its service level agreements (SLAs). Provides technical direction at an operational level, determining standards, and with defining operational schedules for the specific array of, often, interlinked projects. Collaborates with other function on issues such as software engineering, IT quality assurance, and product management to improve site reliability. Analyzes technologies used and makes recommendations to software development teams on ways to improve infrastructure leveraging various tools and best practices. Requires site reliability engineering experience developing Infrastructure as Code and experience building scripts, tooling, and automation using programming languages including C#, Java, Python, Ruby, or Go, including the concepts, policies and practices required to deliver projects on time and at the required standard.
