Role summary
Manages, directs, or supervises staff and implementing an integrated and coordinated e-commerce strategy for the organization, through the management of multiple, technical e-commerce projects and initiatives. This strategy supports the overall revenue and commercial B2B, B2C, B2G, and m-commerce objectives, portals and high traffic sites of the organization. Meets with brand management and other business groups to fully understand their overall needs and requirements. May also meet with advertising agencies and other vendors directly involved in site messaging, content and other aspects of the project. Evaluates technical vendors and solutions providers to understand the various technology alternatives and architectures available to deliver cost effective and reliable, fault tolerant solutions for high traffic websites and portals. Provides both technical and managerial leadership to a multi-disciplinary team of IT professionals involved in developing or coordinating the integration of e-commerce solutions. Requires Information Technology experience including comprehensive knowledge of both the Internet relational database structures and related technologies as well as a working knowledge of the marketing and commercial imperatives of the organization.
