Role summary

Manages, directs, or supervises the Supply Chain Procurement function including planning, administration, analysis, control and or execution of strategic Supply Chain and Procurement activities. May reside in a Plant or Regional operation or in a corporate location. May manage a particular specialized commodity area or location with responsibility for recommending budget, staffing and resources. Implements strategic directives and manages procurement and purchasing efforts to implement short term strategic goals to improve on-time delivery, cost reduction and quality of all assigned products, supplies, materials, services. Sets priorities, negotiates terms, develops budgets and cost projections, and determines operational procedures. Monitors productivity and achievement against goals/targets and reviews and approves procurement recommendations and actions. Keeps abreast of industry resources, methods, techniques, and practices and provides policy development input for cost saving opportunities and new SC strategies. Implements and oversees corporate policies and procedures to ensure compliance and manages the timely update, accuracy, and integrity of procurement data in the ERP system. May work with IT or external systems personnel to customize systems to facilitate the management of the Supply Chain Procurement function. Develops reports and recommends cost effective, high value sourcing options and commodity contingency plans. Develops and maintains strategic Vendor and Supplier Relationships to meet organizational needs and is a key internal contact for interdepartmental coordination, planning or problem resolution.
