Role summary
Applying statistical and problem analysis techniques, responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and implementing data gathering and reporting methods and procedures to enhance product workflow, logistics, and distribution. Analyzes information to develop logistical plans that affect production, distribution, supply chain services, material handling, inventory control, critical parts availability, import/export licensing, shipment and distribution, or third-party warehousing. May participate in special projects. Applies knowledge of root causes within area(s) of assigned responsibility to solve problems or participate in plans. May also develop and manage vendor relationships. Creates and analyzes reports to support business decisions. Develops business tools and maintains cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models related to the logistics function. Performs data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis or problem analysis. As requested, develops ad hoc queries, and maintains a variety of reports specific to various functional or departmental needs. May evaluate customer service needs and field service commitments to ensure customer requirements and commitments are met. May draft or review operational procedures for distribution and inventory management to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost. Typically, a degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management and related experience.
