Role summary

Plans, identifies, and evaluates internal, customer and/or vendor inventories through analysis and updates of the inventory replenishment system and/or other control systems. Performs studies and evaluations to assure adequate product/inventory availability at minimum cost in compliance with policies, standards, and regulations. Monitors and ensures inventory security through the analysis of transaction documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review. Maintains replenishment model data to ensure inventory availability and cost control. Analyzes and monitors accuracy of data such as weekly or historical inventory trends, or lead time requirements. Reviews past or future events for predictive modeling, and projects the impact of new product or promotional information. Evaluates inventory specifications, product pricing, customer, company, or vendor requirements, and ensures efficiency, product/inventory availability, and cost control. Conducts physical inspections assuring accuracy and inventory availability. Performs special projects, audits, analyses, and corrects cycle counts or other discrepancies. May revise schedules and coordinate shipping to maximize efficiencies, reduce costs, coordinate other buying, distribution, or logistics plans to achieve inventory planning or control goals. Coordinates with internal, customers, or vendors for problem prevention/resolution, and may act as a liaison between customer, sales, shipping/receiving, customer service, carriers, materials, supply chain/logistics, and operations. Analyzes inventory levels, production speed, and product demand to evaluate reorder needs and identify trends related to change specifications, coordination requirements, inventory forecasts, or improved efficiency or service.
